Our 10-week Sewing Construction Program is tailored for aspiring fashion entrepreneurs from all backgrounds and skill levels. Whether starting from scratch or refining your existing sewing skills, this program equips you with the knowledge and confidence to create multiple garments with confidence! PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS Class Objective During this in-depth 10-week program, students will complete two design projects that help them systematically build foundational garment construction skills. Each project is carefully organized to improve technical abilities, encourage creative thinking, and boost confidence, so students can independently create simple garments. Every lesson provides step-by-step guidance on everything from tracing basic patterns and cutting fabric to marking and sewing. Curriculum Breakdown 1. Designer Bodice Crisscross Top with Princess Seam and Back Straps Students begin by mastering foundational techniques essential to all garment construction: • Seam allowances, darts, and professional garment finishes (French seam, flat felt Etc.) • Armhole finishes (binding seams Etc.) • Neckline finishes (facing and fusing) • Garment closures (Loops installations, and straps) • Proper cutting methods, pinning, and pressing techniques 2. Designer Full Circle Skirt with Waistband. This module introduces structure, detailing, and precision: • Waistbands, facings, and fusing • Invisible zipper installation, hooks & eyes • Hand-sewing fundamentals • Hemming techniques, topstitching • Merrow finishes and how to use and thread a serger machine • Baby hems, standard hems, and refined finishing Learning Outcome Under the expert guidance of Princess Faraj, students will gain hands-on experience and technical proficiency in sewing and garment construction. By the end of the program, participants will have the confidence, skill set, and industry knowledge to independently create a variety of garments with precision and professionalism.
